Jeep India confirmed that it will unveil the 2021 model year of the Compass on January 7, 2021. The 2021 model-year Compass SUV was recently introduced internationally with an array of updates and revised styling.
The improved design appears more aggressive than before with revised headlights, updated seven-slat grille with honeycomb-like inserts, a new front bumper featuring a tweaked faux skid plate and a larger air dam with new fog lamp housing design. The rear although will not have much change compared to what is offered on the current model.
The design of the 2021 facelift model of the Jeep Compass was revealed at the Guangzhou International Motor Show in China. One of the biggest changes will be the restyled dashboard with a floating 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also has a new 3-spoke steering wheel, double-stitched leather upholstery, a 360-degree parking camera and a fully digital instrument console.
The Compass facelift will carry forward its current powertrains unlike the ones in the international market. This means that it will come with the same 1.4L turbo petrol engine making 163hp and 2501Nm of torque and 2.0L diesel engine making 173hp and 350Nm of torque. The petrol-powered Compass comes with an option of seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, while the diesel gets the nine-speed automatic option.
After the launch in India, Jeep Compass facelift shall compete with the likes of Hyundai Tucson, Skoda Karoq and other higher spec models of Tata Harrier and MG Hector.
