Mangaluru: Serial robbery accused arrested; valuables worth Rs 13.53L confiscated

Mangaluru: On January 10, Surathkal police arrested a man accused of being involved in serial robberies.

The accused has been identified as Rajesh Naik, hailing from Toll Naka at Dharwad and currently living at Indrali, Durganagar, Manchi in the city here.

Naik is accused of stealing valuables from the daivasthana of two houses in Kulai and Chitrapura villages and the Ramanjaneya Bhajana Mandir in Goddekopla in Iddya village.

Rs 13.53 lakhs worth of stolen items were recovered from him, including 47 grams of gold ornaments and 16 kilograms of silver.

Naik is now remanded to 14-day judicial custody.
