Ullal: 11 students land behind bars for ragging juniors

Ullal: As many as 11 students from a nursing college in the city have been arrested by the city police for ragging their juniors.
The arrested are identified as Mahamed Shammas, Alvin Joy, Robin Biju, Jeron Cyril, Jabin Mahroof, Mahammed Sooraj, Jaffin Roychan, Abdul Basith, Ashin Babu, Abdul Anas Muhammed, and Akshay KS.
Based on a complaint by some students from the college, Ullal police had registered a case.
It is gathered that the incident occurred in nursing and physiotherapy students’ hostel at Deralakatte. As many as 11 students from the third-year nursing section harassed five first-year physiotherapy class students hailing from Kerala.
According to the sources, their seniors asked them to respect and obey whatever they said. One of the students was also pushed back.
Ullal police have registered an FIR and the college management has also taken disciplinary action against the students.
