Bengaluru: Walking audit underway to make Malleswaram pedestrian friendly

Bengaluru: As part of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Accord (SUMA), the Malleswaram-Urban Living Lab has started a ‘Walking audit of Malleshwaram’

The exercise is aimed at integrating footpaths and conservancy lanes to provide safe pedestrian movement both in commercial and residential areas

The initiative is taken by Malleswaram-Urban Living Lab in collaboration with Malleswaram Social and Sensing Local.

The audit involves assessing existing infrastructure and identifying problem areas, based on data collected, with photographs, a plan will be drawn to make the locality more pedestrian-friendly.

It is said that around 70 citizens of different age groups took part in the audit. As of now, two sessions have been completed and the next session will be taken up next week in the evening to know the condition of the street lights.
