11-year-old girl dies enacting suicide scene

Bengaluru: A 11-year-old girl died while enacting a suicide scene from a teleserial she was watching.

The deceased is identified as Pooja, a daughter of Rangegowda and Sharada, who runs a roadside eatery near their house was a fifth standard student of a private school in Mallasandra.

Reportedly, Pooja hung herself to a wall hanger using a towel while enacting a suicide scene from a teleserial she had watched.

It is gathered that Pooja who had gone to the shop with her mother and younger brother, returned home for dinner. Later she went to a nearby shop to buy curd at around 7 PM and returned home. One of her neighbors claimed Pooja was alive around 8 pm and watching a serial. However, when her parents returned home around 9:30 pm, they found Pooja hanging to a wall hanger. The couple got Pooja down and rushed her to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared her brought dead.

On receiving the information police rushed to the spot examined the house and said that preliminary investigation revealed no foul play in her death.

A case with this regard has been registered with the Bagalgunte police.
