Problem since Aadhar card not linked to bank account – officials

No money even after linking Aadhar: applicant’s pain

Sullia: The 1,632 farmers who had submitted applications claiming compensation for losses due to Koleroga affecting the arecanut tress last year are yet to receive the money.

The officials from the horticulture department have informed that the problem has occurred since the banks accounts of the applicants have not been connected with the Aadhaar card. Meanwhile, some of the applicants allege that even though their accounts have been connected with the Aadhaar card, they have yet no received any amount.

Details

12,311 applications were submitted in the taluk concerning koleroga in 2018-19 among which, compensation has been approved for 11,210 applicants while, it has not been approved for 1,632 persons due to technical reasons, inform officials. Since the log in opportunity has been given to the village accountant, other than the details regarding the submission of the application, the horticulture and agriculture departments do not have the details regarding the provision. Hence, the applicants are compelled to to go to the VA’s office to get information regarding the deposit.

Those eligible should get

Every time, during the distribution of the compensation regarding koleroga, the eligible applicants get cheated. The reason for this is that, the compensation estimate is finalized without conducting a survey in this connection at most of the villages. The damage is being estimated based on the dimensions of the farm as per the record. Thus, those with a bigger farm get more while those with a smaller farm, get less compensation. Small cultivators get very little compensation. Hence, the cultivators demand that instead of deciding the compensation based on the records, survey must be conducted on the ground for real damage based on which, highest compensation must be given to the eligible applicant.

Login within VA limits

A list containing 1,632 applicants had been created and submitted to the respective GPs and the horticulture department had requested that Aadhar card be linked. Since the login has been given to the VA to upload the application data into the software, the details regarding non-approval of the compensation even after submission of the documents has not yet been availed. The details will be available only after the VA submits the information to the horticulture department.

List sent to GPs to link Aadhaar

Since Aadhar card was not linked, 1,632 applicants have not yet received the koleroga compensation. A letter in this connection has been written to the VA on July 20th. The applicants’ list has been sent to the respective GPs and have been asked to link Aadhar card. After this, the list regarding pending payments to the applicants will be received from the VA – Suhana, Horticulture Department Officer

Receiving of this time’s applications begins

Every year, compensation applications are accepted from cultivators who have suffered more than 33% in loss due to koleroga. The government does not pass a circular every year. Only after damage the process is started. This year, cultivators who have suffered more than 33% in losses due to koleroga can submit application for compensation. They may contact their respective horticulture or agriculture department and submit the application with proper documentation. Rs 18,000 will be given as compensation for every hectare informs DK horticulture department deputy director H R Nayak
