40-year-old woman shot dead in Haryana

Yamunanagar (Har): A 40-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by a man following a heated argument in Yamunanagar, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday night at Raghunath Puri area of Yamunanagar, they said, adding that the deceased was identified as Pinky.

Following a heated argument, Kamal, the accused, allegedly opened fire at Pinky from his licensed revolver and fled from the spot, the police said.

She died of excessive bleeding while being taken to hospital. According to preliminary investigation, Kamal and Pinky knew each other for the last six months, the police said.

A case under relevant sections of the IPC was registered against the accused, they said.
