Adopt comprehensive farming methods: DC Priyanka to farmers

Brahmavar: Adopt comprehensive method of agriculture to make agriculture more profitable, advised the deputy commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis to farmers. She was speaking at the inauguration of Krishi Mela 2018, exhibition and demonstration programme by horticulture university, Shivamogga, regional agriculture and research center, agricultural university, Brahmavar with the cooperation of related departments on Saturday, October 27th.

Speaking about the comprehensive method of agriculture, the DC said, “The areas of cultivable lands in Udupi are less. Farmers should follow comprehensive method of agriculture, using modern technology and instruments to make it more profitable. Farmers should obtain assistance from agricultural university. Farmers should opt for method of growing grazing grass, duck units, fish rearing, poultry and piggery. You can obtain assistance agricultural scientists.”

Agriculture and horticulture research centre assistant director Dr S U Patil, Agriculture and horticulture university Shivamooga chancellor Dr M K Naik, Dr T H Gowda, research director Dr B R Gurumoorthi, Bengaluru agriculture and technology research center director Dr M J Chandregowda, senior scientist Dhananjay, horticulture department deputy director Bhuvaneshwari and animal husbandry department’s deputy director Dr Sarvotham Udupa were present.
