After two years, Student found guilty of assaulting principal

Mangaluru: The charges against a degree student of a private college in city of assaulting the principal have been proved on Tuesday, October 9. The accused student has been identified as Mohammed Shahnawaz (22), a third year BBA student.
The incident
On October 20, 2016, Mohammed Shahnawaz had assaulted the principal and ran away from the college premises. Earlier, the principal had warned the student to attend the classes regularly as he had shortage of attendance. The principal had also told the student that without the adequate attendance, he would not be allowed to appear for exams.
The errant student had attacked the principal for trying to discipline him for not attending classes regularly. Consequently, a case of murder attempt was registered against the student at Bunder police station under IPC 324 and 504. Police sub-inspector Madan had submitted the chargesheet. The judge Nerale Veerabhadrayya found the accused guilty after the trail. The court has reserved the verdict.
