Mangaluru: Nearly 112 passengers of Air India flight, scheduled to depart for Abu Dhabi at 8.45 pm on Sunday from Mangaluru international airport were left stranded for over ten hours at the terminal because of a technical snag in the flight.

Flight engineers who tried to repair the snag were unable to do so for want of certain spare parts that were available only in Mumbai and Thiruvananthapuram, it is learnt.

Moreover, the passengers were forced to spend the time at the terminal as authorities could not make arrangements for their stay during the late night hours.

The passengers were then accommodated into another flight at 6.30 am the next morning. Though this particular flight was scheduled to fly to Dubai on Monday at 9.10 am, the authorities intimated passengers about its non-availability in advance in order to accommodate the stranded passengers. A few passengers, however, cancelled their tickets and returned home.

Meanwhile passengers of the Dubai flight were flown at around 2.30 pm in the flight that had developed the technical snag after it was repaired.
