All restrictions relaxed; Sec 144 extended: Dakshina Kannada DC

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr KV Rajendra on Sunday, August 7 relaxed all the restrictions on shop closure in the city that was implemented following back-to-back murders in the city.
The DC said, “All the shops including liquor shops can function as usual.”
However, section 144 has been extended till August 14 midnight.
The order said the assembly of 5 or more persons in public places is prohibited. Carrying weapons, public processions, burning effigies, or holding protests is also banned.
The prohibitory orders were clamped down in these taluks following the back-to-back murder in the district.
