Mangaluru: Ahead of the Buntara Yane Nadavara Mathr Sangha presidential election, to be held on Sunday, December 8 President of International Bunts Welfare Trust, A Sadananda Shetty alleged incumbent president of not doing any significant work for the sangha.
Earlier Sadananda Shetty alleged, “Ajith Kumar Rai has not done any significant work for the sangha despite his 3-time tenure. Under his leadership, a 30-year-old building was demolished to construct a Bunts Centenary Convention center, however, even after several years they have started the work.”
Responding to the allegations, Rai on Friday, December 6 said: “The idea of the construction of convention center was started when K Amarnath Shetty was Sangh president. The previous building was dilapidated and hence, it was decided to construct a new building with many amenities. There was a delay in commencement of the project owing to documentation errors which have now been rectified.”
“With the support of party members, we are working tirelessly without any publicity and this is the reason people are accusing us of not doing any work. The association has done much work for the society including helping the students and needy.” Rai added.
Maladi Ajith Kumar Rai and Sureshchandra Shetty M are contesting for the president post.
