An elderly man assaulted on suspicion of child trafficking

Bajpe: A group of people assaulted an elderly man on the suspicion of being a child trafficker at Gurukambala near Bajpe on Sunday, August 20th.  The manhandeled victim has been identified Hamza (63), a resident of Kankanady in city hailing from Katipalla.

Incident

On Sunday, Hamza had gone to Gurukambala to make a payment of a loan on behalf of his friend. He was also simultaneously collecting donations from some houses on account of Bakrid. That is when a group led by Mustafa Ajmal, assaulted Hamza, accusing him of being a child trafficker.

Bajpe police rushed to the spot on getting wind of the incident and rescued Hamza. The also provided first aid to the elderly victim and then let him go home. A case in this regard has been registered at Bajpe police station.
