Belagavi: Social Activist Anna Hazare lashed out at Union Minister Anantkumar Hegde for his remarks on changing the basic structure of Constitution.
Hazare said that Hegde needs treatment in a mental hospital.
In a press meet here on Friday, the activist from Ralegan Siddhi in Maharashatra, who led the campaign for the passage of the Lok Pal Bill, said, “The Constitution reflects the aspirations of the people. The federal structure and pluralism of the country are intact because of the ideals and values imbibed in the Constitution by the makers. It is not right to make such statements (amending the basic structure),” he said.
The demonetisation of higher denomination currency notes has not put a curb on the corruption. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has failed to achieve his goal of making India corruption-free, Anna Hazare said.
