App-based cab services to be available at MIA

Mangaluru: Airports Authority of India (AAI) has approved to avail services from app-based cab aggregators for travel to the commuters.
Addressing the media, Director, VV Rao said, AAI has chosen Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) to expand this pilot project.
“The app-based cab services will now co-exist with local taxi operators,” he said.
AAI will call for a tender and the final decision will be made. Once chosen, license will be provided for period of three years. AAI tender conditions also fix rate per trip booking for airports based on their classification with minimum of Rs 20 for C/D group of airports, Rs 25 for B category airports, Rs 30 for A category airports and Rs 40 for Kolkata and Chennai airports.
