Bengaluru: The notification issued by the previous JDS-Congress coalition government to recruit 1,000 engineers to the Public Works Department (PWD) was cancelled by the BS Yediyurappa led BJP government.

In March 2019, the Public Works Department (PWD) department had issued a notification for the recruitment of 570 assistant engineers and 300 junior engineers. The Karnataka Examination Authority held an examination for the same between June 22 and 24.

However, the state government recently cancelled the recruitment notification and called for re-examination for 925 posts.

It is gathered that few Congress and BJP leaders convinced Yediyurappa to cancel the entire recruitment process by revealing the details of how former PWD minister HD Revanna influenced the hiring process. Based on these documents now the entire recruitment process has been cancelled.
