Belagavi: 65-year-old man dies as tree falls on him

Belagavi: A elderly man was crushed to death after a tree fell on him following gusty winds and heavy showers that lashed the city on Tuesday, April 19.

The deceased is Vijay Kolhapure (65), a resident of Kali Amrai, and a retired official of Hubballi Electricity Supply Company (Hescom).

When Vijay was riding his scooter on Club Road a tree, uprooted by the rain, landed on him, killing him on the spot.

Meanwhile, two-wheelers parked on Club Road sustained damage later when a tree toppled atop the automobiles.
