Belagavi: Students on educational trip to Mahabaleshwar survive accident scare

Sankeshwar: As many as 50 students escaped with minor injuries after the bus driver’s quick thinking helped avert a major accident in Maharahtra’s Mahabaleshwar here on Tuesday.

As per reports the students of a prestigious school in Sankeshwar had been to Mahabaleshwar as part of an educational trip alonwith teachers. The state transport bus in which they were travelling suffered a brake failure on the mouintaneous terrain.

The driver however showed presence of mind and quickly swung the vehicle towards the hilly side to avoid falling into the deep gorge on the other side. The vehicle rammed into the rocks and came to a halt.

The students suffered minor injuries due to the impact of the accident but were relieved to survive the mishap.
