Belagavi: In a shocking incident reported from Gokak town, a woman was allegedly assaulted and paraded with a garland of shoes on the suspicion that she had extorted money from a youth after honeytrapping him.
On Friday, locals confronted the victim, Sridevi at her house over accusations of honey trapping, A verbal argument ensued between her and the locals, following which Sridevi was dragged out of her house and assaulted.
Later she was garlanded with chappals and paraded near Ghataprabha Mrutyunjaya Circle.
She was later taken to the police station and the group had urged the police to take action against her.
Based on the accusations made against Sridevi, the police took her in to custody. They have also lodged a complaint against the locals for assaulting and parading the lady.
