Belathangady: First COVID-19 death in taluk

Belathangady: A 60-year-old man from Pilichamundikallu at Kuvettu village has become the first COVID-19 casualty in the taluk. The man died in his home early Sunday morning.

The ill man was admitted to the Belthangady Government Hospital two days ago. He was tested for COVID-19 there which reported positive.

The area where the man lived has now been sealed.

At least 3 to 5 cases are reported every day from Belathangady. As a precautionary measure, a voluntary curfew will be held from 2 pm on July 14 by local merchants and autorickshaw drivers.
