Belthangady: Officials from the Internal Security Division (ISD) visited the Dharmasthala police station on Monday to gather information about the illegal acquisition of 42 SIM cards by 5 youths.
Concerning this matter, Dharmasthala police had earlier taken five individuals, including a minor, into custody for questioning.
Meanwhile, a Belthangady court granted conditional bail to the four accused arrested in the case.
According to law, an individual is permitted to purchase up to 9 SIM cards.
The seriousness of the investigation is heightened by the fact that one of the accused is employed abroad. Sources indicate a potential involvement of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the case.
