
Belthangady: Locals pull out pickup truck submerged in overflowing river

Belthangady: An incident of a pickup truck submerging in overflowing water of the Mrityunjay river and later being pulled out by locals was reported from Chibidre Urpel Gudde within Charmadi gram panchayat limits.
The truck had delivered centring equipments at a nearby house and was returning when the river started to overflow and submerged the vehicle.
The route to reach the village passes through the river and vehicle usually cross the flowing river to reach it.
Soon after the truck submerged the driver and another person in the vehicle swam out of it. The driver then made phone calls to a few locals for help.
The locals arrived with ropes tied the truck and pulled it out of the river.
