Even as police are yet to trace the whereabouts of Nagesh, the accused in an acid attack case on a 24-year-old girl in the city, it has now emerged that he stalked other women, one of his victims being his neighbour in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district.

Sources said that the parents of the girl whom Nagesh used to stalk had reported the matter to the police whereafter the latter was summoned to the station and let off with a warning as the girl did not want to lodge a complaint.

Hailing from Kodiyalam in Tamil Nadu, Nagesh had moved to Bengaluru seven years ago and was living in a rented house here. The house belonged to the acid attack survivor’s aunty. When Nagesh began making advances at her, she told her family and Nagesh was then asked to vacate the house.

At this time he had returned to his native place where it was reported that he harassed his neighbour. Following the warning by the jurisdictional police there, Nagesh had returned to Bengaluru and began stalking the 24-year-old yet again. On the day of the incident, Nagesh was waiting in an auto near the victim’s workplace and when she arrived he chased and poured petrol on her.

Seven police teams have been formed to nab him and searches have also been conducted in neighbouring states for the accused. Nagesh has however managed to remain elusive so far and has not used his ATM card or has contacted any of his family members.
