Bengaluru: Actor Chetan Ahimsa whose statements turn controversial, has yet again made a statement on the reservation in cricket, which has drawn flak from people.
Addressing a gathering on Sunday, December 5 at a discussion event on reservation in Chamarajanagara, he said that the Indian cricket team is filled with upper caste people. SC/ST reservations should be applied in the Indian cricket team as well. This will enhance the team’s performance.
Regarding this, Chethan tweeted, “Yesterday in Chamarajanagara, I spoke on a relevant subject titled – ‘Are Reservations Meant for Representation or Economic Upliftment?’ Reservations are representation & social justice & must be provided according to population %. More debate on this significant subject is a must.”

However, netizens have objected to his views.
He also commented on the Panchamasali 2A reservation stating, “The Panchamasali Lingayat demand for 2A reservation is a selfish demand.”
This has irked the Panchamasali seer as well as the community on the whole.
Earlier, Chetan had made a controversial statement on Rishab Shetty starrer pan-India movie “Kantara” stating that ‘Bhootakola’ was not a Hindu tradition.
