Byatarayanpura Police have arrested 3 individuals for the murder of a 23-year-old man over a trivial issue on the night of Mahashivaratri festivities.
The accused have been identified as Chetan, Ranga, and Pawan, all residents of Byatarayanpura. They are accused of killing Yogesh a resident of Srinagar in Bengaluru.
Police said that the motive behind the killing was a trivial matter. There was an altercation between the victim and the accused over accidental physical contact while dancing on the temple premises. This was the trigger for the crime, they added.
The accused intercepted Yogesh as he was returning home on his motorcycle around 2 am after the celebrations concluded. They stabbed him and fled from the scene, police said.
