Bengaluru: Medical student killed after truck knocks her down while avoiding pothole

Bengaluru: In a bid to avoid a pothole in Lingarajpuram, a 19-year old medical student lost her life.

The student who was riding a scooter, fell on the road while trying to avoid a pothole. Following which a speeding truck behind her, ran over her, resulting in her death on the spot.

The deceased has been identified as Tasdeeq Bushra, hailing from Lingarajpuram. She was a first year student in a private college.

As per reports, the incident occurred at around 11.45 pm while Bushra was on her way to college.

Blaming the BBMP for not fixing the road, the bystanders who witnessed the incident alerted Pilakeshinagar traffic police.

The truck driver, Palani has been arrested and police will further probe the incident.

Informing that a case has been filed based on girl’s father Syed Mushtak Ahmed’s complaint, the police said that they have decided to book concerned BBMP officers to take action.

The police even confessed that the road was in very bad condition and informed that the body was handed over to the parents after postmortem procedure was conducted in Bowring hospital.

Although  a case against BBMP authorities for the apathy is yet to be filed.
