Bidar: Cannabis plants worth Rs 1 lakh seized by Excise officers

Bidar: Excise department officials conducted an operation in various parts of Chitguppa taluk here and seized marijuana plants worth lakhs and a bike on October 9.

212 marijuana plants about 3 feet to 7 feet were grown in the middle of Bengal gram field in a hilly forest about 2 km from Bhadrapur village. Officers uprooted all the marijuana plants from the field.

The Excise Inspector of the Bidar sub-division has registered a case and are investigating.

Excise Inspectors Ravindra Patil, Ananda Ukkali, KS Rajasekhar, Deputy Inspector Jettappa, Excise Guards Chandrakant, Hussein Saab, Abdul Ateekh and Pawan, Forest Guard Siddalingappa and Village Accountant Hanumesh were involved in the operation.
