Hubballi: BJP MP Shobha Karandlaje on Thursday said that it was Siddaramaiah’s responsibility to keep Congress legislators in check and asked him to wear bangles if he was unable to do so.
Speaking to reporters here Karandlaje alleged that Siddaramaiah’s loyalists were pitching his name for the Chief ministers post on his behest. Being head of the co-ordination committee of the government it is his responsibility to keep his flock together but instead they are blaming BJP, she said.
She further alleged that the former chief minister was trying to blackmail the Congress high command by saying that he will not contest the next election. “People will give him a fitting reply in the elections for his charges against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP state president, Yeddyurappa,” she said.
Taking objection to Karndlaje’s bangles remark at Siddaramaiah, former minister Umashree said that the BJP leader will harm her own image by making such crass remarks and advised her to take a lesson in “political culture”
Reacting to her remarks, Water resources minister, D K Shivakumar said, “Let my sister Shobha Karandlaje send us bangles. We will happily wear them.”
