Bengaluru: The state BJP Yuva Morcha Vice President Bheemashankar Patil has written a letter to State president Nalin Kumar Kateel, threatening him of a mass resignation by the party leaders if he continued to ignore Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa.

In his letter, Bheemashankar Patil condemned attempts in the party to sideline the chief minister and threatened that BJP workers in 13 districts of North Karnataka will be forced to resign en masse if Yediyurappa is not treated with due respect in the party.

On Friday, September 27 there were signs of discord within party ranks after Nalin Kumar Kateel, appointed two leaders belonging to the camp opposed to BS Yediyurappa, to key posts.

Sources in the state unit said Banu Prakash and Nirmal Kumar Surana, who was jettisoned by Yediyurappa when he headed the state unit, were appointed vice president by Kateel. Both these leaders had worked with Santhosh when he was BJP secretary (organization).

Irked about changes in the state unit, Bheemashankar Patil has written a letter Nalin, informed sources.

Meanwhile, Yediyurappa has maintained a distance from party activities.
