Bengaluru: Citizens for Bengaluru (CfB) volunteers submitted the demands of citizens for a systemic approach to pervasive footpath woes in the city to Karnataka Chief Secretary Ravi Kumar.
In the letter to Karnataka Chief Secretary Ravi Kumar, the citizens demanded to pass a government order to appoint Zonal Pedestrian Safety Special Commissioners in each of the city’s eight zones and one City-level Commissioner for Pedestrian Safety.
The volunteers also demanded monthly co-ordination meetings led by these commissioners between among BBMP, BWSSB, BESCOM, Smart City, UDD/DULT, BMTC (for bus shelters and bus bays) and the traffic police.
