‎Bengaluru:‎‎ Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday announced that an order will be issued to provide assistance to all acid attack victims in the state.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the “Hello Revenue Minister – helpline” organized by the revenue department at the banquet hall of the Vidhana Soudha here on Friday.

Residential plots and houses will be allotted to all acid attack victims and financial assistance of up to Rs 5 lakh will be provided to them under the self-employment scheme, Bommai said.‎

Bommai said that it is the responsibility of the government to stand by the acid attack survivors. “Survivors of acid attack suffer a lot of pain. They are neglected and even despised by society. In view of this, their monthly pension has been raised from Rs 3,000 to Rs 10,000,” he added.

He said the revenue department has taken people-friendly initiatives for the benefit of the citizens. “Delivery of revenue department’s services at people’s doorsteps will benefit more than 50 lakh families,” the CM said.
