Chariot donated to Kukke temple by Muthappa Rai reaches Kadri temple

Mangaluru: A magnificent chariot (Bramha Ratha) donated by Kannada activist N Muthappa Rai and businessman Ajit Shetty Kadaba arrived in Kadri temple on Tuesday and will reach Mahatobara Kukke Sri Subramanya temple, about 100 km from here, on October 2.

The chariot began its journey from Koteshwara, the place that it was built and District in-charge minister Kota Shrinivas Poojary flagged off the wooden chariot that travelled via Mulky- Bappanadu and reached Kadri today. It will reach Kukke Subrahmanya temple on October 2 at 4 pm.

The wooden chariot has been built at a cost of Rs 2.50 crore. The works on the huge chariot began on March 15 under the leadership of Shilpa Guru Rathashilpi Koteshwara Lakshminarayana Acharya who is credited with building more than 108 chariots.
