Kundapur: A surprise inspection of school vehicles was conducted by the police under the leadership of Kundapur station inspector Harish and the school vehicles taking the children back home were intercepted on Saturday July 21st.
The reason for the surprise check was to ascertain if the number of children being transported exceeded the permissible limit, to make sure if the drivers followed traffic regulations and to check if the schools were violating rules.
There were many complaints from the public that the auto-rickshaws were transporting children in numbers beyond the permissible limits and they also alleged that the school vehicles do not follow rules. Hence, the police conducted the surprise check and warned of stern actions against any violation.
