Class 10 student on school trip dies after bus overturns, several injured

Shivamogga: A class 10 student of Poorna Prajna Educational Institute, Badravathi was killed on the spot while 39 others sustained injuries after the bus they were travelling in toppled at Sauthikere on the outskirts of N R Puram, in the wee hours of November 10.

The deceased has been identified as Diya. Five other students sustained critical injuries and have been admitted to the Max Hospital in Shivamogga. Preliminary treatment was given to the other students and bus driver for their injuries at the N R Puram Government Hospital.

It is learnt that a school trip had been organised for the students and the bus was on its ways towards Udupi when its driver lost control over the vehicle. causing it to overturn.
