Clubhouse, an audio-based social network for iOS may be launching its Android release as early as May.
On Sunday, March 28, Paul Davidson and Rohan Seth, co-founders shared that Clubhouse’s Android app interface has been previewed and informed that launch could happen in the next 4-6 weeks.
This launch has been the most awaited since the company said that it will be working on the Android version. In February, the company hired Android Software Developer Mopewa Ogundipe.
As per reports, the app’s download ranking dropped from 32 to 172. In India, the download ranking dropped from 12 in February to 27 in March. The Android launch could help boost the numbers.
The Android launch could be critical to expanding in India, as it is Android-dominated, and more than 90 percent of smartphone users in India own Android phones.
Clubhouse sees a competition from its counterpart Twitter Spaces which is expected to launch in April. Apart from that reports state that Facebook is also working on a similar platform.
