CM approves further one-week lockdown extension in DK

Mangaluru: Chief Minister approved further one-week lockdown extension in Dakshina Kannada, announced Muzrai Minister Kota Srinivasa Poojary.

Kota said, “We had appealed to the Chief Minister to extend the lockdown in the district. It was approved in today’s meeting by BS Yediyurappa.”

The Chief Minister has been requested to extend the lockdown by a week while exempting a few industries, Poojary said.

He said a meeting of MPs and MLAs in the district will be held on Friday to take a decision on the exemptions to be given during the next lockdown

The Chief Minister held a video conference discussion with the Deputy Commissioners and District in-charge ministers of 8 districts.

He asked the officials of Dakshina Kannada, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Mysuru, Mandya, Shivamogga and Tumakuru to work for reducing the positivity rate below 5% within a week.
