CM Siddaramaiah lays foundation stone for maternity block

Udupi: CM Siddaramaiah laid the foundation stone for the Late Lakshmi Soma Bangera maternity wing of Kundapur taluk government hospital here on Sunday.
G Shankar Trust will build the 100-bed block at a cost of Rs.5 crore and will be handed over to the government.
Addressing the gathering, CM Siddaramaiah said, “G Shankar has been doing great job of helping the needy, I have great respect for him. He has been donating huge amounts of his income to the poor and needy people. After completion of the construction work, the hospital block will be handed over to the government.”
Dr G Shankar, said, “Siddaramaiah has done a lot for the betterment of backward classes in the state. As this hospital block should not turn into a business, we are handing it over to the government after its completion.”
