
CM’s meeting with factory owners fails to reach consensus

Bengaluru: The meeting convened by Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy with sugar factory owners at his home office on Thursday remained inconclusive as the owners are showing reluctance to accept offer proposed by the government.
CM has hinted at a hike of Rs 300 on existing FRP out of which Rs 150 borne by the government, informed sources.
Addressing the press persons after attending the meeting Belagavi’s Ghataprabha Cooperative Sugar Factory owner Balachandra Jarkiholi alleged that the factories in Bagalkot have paid less to the farmers while factories in Belagavi have actually paid farmers more than the fair and remunerative price. He added that the problem can take another 15 days to get resolved,
Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwar, Minister Bandeppa Kashempura, Ramesh Jarakiholi, Sivananda Patil, former ministers were also present.
