Coastal areas on alert for two days of potential rainfall due to rising pressure in Arabian Sea

Pressure has been steadily building in the Arabian Sea, raising concerns of rainfall in coastal regions for the next two days. An alert has been issued, effective until the morning of October 19.

Late on Tuesday night, certain areas of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi experienced rainfall. Wednesday brought moderate rain to select locations, while other areas saw a mix of sunshine and clouds. In Mangalore, temperatures reached a maximum of 31.2°C, with a minimum of 24.1°C.

Lightning strikes caused damage during Tuesday evening and several instances were reported in Sulya and Kadaba taluks. In Kadaba taluk, Sheenappa Devasya’s residence in Edamangala village was struck by lightning, resulting in damage to walls, doors, and a switchboard.

Lightning also caused damage to the house and barn of Ukrappa Gowda near Arambur. Additionally, Karangiladka Gangadhar Gowda’s home near Sevaje in Devachalla village experienced damage. Local government officialsvisited the affected areas in response to these incidents.
