New Delhi: In the wake of the communal violence in Delhi’s Chandni Chowk area, Home minister Amit Shah summoned Delhi Police commissioner Amulya Patnaik on Wednesday to inquire about the situation and if action had been taken against people identified.

After the meeting, Patnaik said, “It was a general briefing on the Chandni Chowk incident.”

A temple was allegedly vandalised in Delhi’s Chawri Bazaar’s area, after a row over parking a scooter snowballed into a communal flare up at Lal Kuan near Chawri Bazar in Old Delhi , police said on Tuesday. Two persons have been arrested and a minor apprehended in this connection.

Delhi Police chief Patnaik said four people have been arrested and the situation in the area is under control.
