Covid-19: 1272 new cases in K’taka takes tally to 16,514

Bengaluru: Karnataka reported 1272 new cases of coronavirus with Benglauru alone accounting for 735 cases on Wednesday, July 1. With this the tally of those infected to 16,514 in the state.

In the last 24 hours, 1272 new cases, 7 deaths and 145 discharges have been reported, the health department said in its bulletin.

Out of the 16514 cumulative cases so far, 8063 persons have been discharged and 253 deaths occurred. Presently, 8194 cases are active of which again Benagluru accounts for 4649 cases.

Bengaluru tops districts in number of fatalities (97) and total positives (5290).

Districtwise Ballari reported 85 cases, Dakshina Kannada 84 cases, Dharwad 35; Bengaluru Rural 29; Vijayapura & Hassan 28 cases each; Uttara Kannada 23; Udupi 22; Chamrajnagara 21; Bagalkote 20.
