Covid 19: Karnataka records biggest single-day spike with 299 cases

Bengaluru: Karnataka recorded its biggest single day spike on Sunday, May 31 with 299 new cases of coronavirus taking the tally of infected persons to 3221.

Of the new cases reported today, Maharashtra returnees accounted for 253 cases.

Among districts Raichur accounted for as many as 83 cases followed by Yadgir 44 cases, Bidar 33 cases, Vijayapura 26 cases, Kalaburagi 28 cases, Bengaluru 21 cases, Mandya 13 cases, Belagavi 13 cases, Udupi 10 cases, Dakshina Kannada 14 cases, Davangere 6 cases, Uttara Kannada 5 cases. Ballari, Shivamogga and Kolar accounted for one case each.

Till date 1218 persons have been discharges, including 221 discharges today, The number of active cases in Karnataka is 1950 while death toll  rose to 51
