Covid19: DK, Udupi report 163 & 182 cases respectively

Mangaluru/Udupi: Dakshina Kannada reported 163 new cases of coronavirus with Mangaluru itself accounting for 107 of the cases on Sunday, August 2.

The day saw 45 persons getting discharged while further 10 persons succumbed to the infection.

Out of total 6,015 cases in DK, 2,730 persons have been discharged and 3,116 are active cases. The death toll in district stands at 169.

Apart from Mangaluru, Bantwal reported 13 cases, Belthangady 19, Puttur 11 and Sullia one case.

In Udupi, the tally of positive cases rose to 4,762 with further 182 persons (107 male and 75 female) testing positive for the infection today. The new cases include 55 cases from Kundapur and 51 from Karkala.

Meanwhile 50 persons were discharged today. Presently the district has 1,943 active cases.
