Udupi: Parents of the class 9 student, Tanvi, who died after falling off the dormitory building of a residential school in Kundapura, appealed to the police for a comprehensive probe into her death and to provide them justice.

At a press conference on Saturday, Roshan Narayana Palekar, the father of Tanvi, said that his daughter was courageous and denied she could have committed suicide.

Tanvi was a talented student and had completed her schooling till class 8 at Karwar’s St Joseph School. She had been admitted to the school at Kunadpura this year to pursue her class 9 studies, he said.

Roshan said that Tanvi was happy when she left her home in Karwar to join the school. Considering the mysterious circumstances of her death, he requested the police for a thorough investigation.

On the morning of June 6, Tanvi died after falling from the second floor of the private residential school in Kundapura. School authorities had claimed that she was sitting near the window during a yoga class and accidentally fell.
