Mangaluru: In the backdrop of heavy rains and its possible persistence as predicted by the weather department, Dakshina Kannada DC declared holiday for schools and PU colleges on Saturday, October 26. Holiday was also declared on Oct 25 as well due to the same reason.
The Deputy Commissioner of Udupi district has also announced holiday on Oct 26 for schools and colleges in the district as a precautionary measure.
Heavy rains
As per reports, heavy rain was experienced at various location in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district. Following incessant rain, a few low lying areas in Mangaluru city were inundated with newly constructed drains functioning for naught.
