Udupi: As the number of Covid-19 related fatalities in Udupi continues to rise, district deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha on Friday urged all people not to medicate themselves at home if they have any Covid-19 symptoms.
In a video message, the DC said, “I urge everyone to undergo a medical test as soon as they notice any Covid-19 symptoms such as cough, cold, fever and throat pain. This is not right time to opt for home remedies. Covid testing as well as treatment is being provided free of cost by the government.
The suspected patients are exposing other family members to risk of infection by not reporting themselves.”
He further added that increase in death rate is due to people reporting themselves at the last stage.
“We noticed that many people who have succumbed to this were senior citizens, and people who were suffering from cancer and heart, kidney, lung-related ailments. If there is anyone suffering from these problems or senior citizens, please take extra care of them” he added.
