Bengaluru: Indian Medical Association (IMA) unit in Karnataka will hold a state wide strike on October 2 to protest against rising atrocities on doctors and grab the attention of the government on the issue.

The doctors have stated that recent assaults on physicians have preventing the doctors from performing their duty efficiently and there is a need of intervention of the government to stop such unpleasant incidents in the future. The doctors have called for a state wide strike even if the number of deaths due to medical negligence is also witnessing an uptrend in Karnataka and around the country.
