Drunken brawl: Man bludgeons friend to death in Karkala

Karkala: A scuffle between two friends who were allegedly drunk ended in the murder of a 42-year-man in Mala village of Karkala taluk on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Harish Poojary (42), from Miyar in Borkatte. It is said that both Harish and the accused Guruva are residents of Mala.

On Sunday, the duo engaged in a brawl after consuming alcohol, after which Guruva bludgeoned Harish to death with an iron rod.

It is said that Harish, Guruva, and their other friend Reeta were living in the same house for the past seven months. Harish works as an electrician and, Guruva and Reeta used to go for daily wage works.

A case has been registered and the investigation is underway.
