Mangaluru: Well-known Kambala personality Vinu Vishwanath Shetty died of a heart attack on Sunday, December 23. He was 54.

Reportedly, Shetty complained of chest pain while returning home after attending the Hokkadigoli Kambala here. He passed away despite being rushed to the hospital immediately.

It was Shetty’s love for Kambala that led the NRI hotelier to construct a 10-feet deep, 40×45 feet swimming pool for his buffaloes in Padebettu village near Padubidri. Notably, Shetty’s buffaloes have been winning medals for him regularly and even bagged the first place in today’s Kambala event.

His final rites will be performed at Kaup on Monday.
