Faulty water bills, other issues taken up by MLA Kamath

Mangaluru: A few of the water bills issued to the consumers are faulty and unscientific, therefore Mangaluru City South MLA, Vdavyas Kamath said he has directed the MCC commissioner to verify the faulty and unscientific water bills issued.

After receiving grievances he spoke and said there are complaints on unscientific water bills being issued to households.” A few complainants have shown me the bills as well. There is a difference in the present and past bills issued to these households.”

“The problem is not faced by one or two households. A majority are facing similar problems. A few have received Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 as water bill for a month,” said the Commissioner and promised to initiate measures to rectify the mistakes within two days.

College development

The MLA to constitute Staff Council Committee for the development of government pre-university colleges and first-grade colleges in the constituency.

On June 2nd, Saturday, the college heads and education department officials met the MLA. He said efforts should be made to convert government pre-university colleges and first-grade colleges into model colleges in the constituency.

The rain victims appealed to the MLA to provide relief at the earliest, to which he directed the MCC and district administration to provide immediate relief.

The legislator received applications seeking employment, repair of roads, and underground drainage, among other facilities. An auto rickshaw drivers and owners delegation alleged that rules are violated in the city, in the name of the issue of permits for autos.
